A Call to Pray

Just a few short weeks ago I blogged about my trip to Colorado Springs, Colorado, to meet with my new publishing board and speak at a campgrounds in the mountains. The beauty enthralled me until my chest literally ached. But the latest images of Colorado Springs and the surrounding areas now make my heart ache in a completely different way. So I'm asking you to pray.

Pray that these raging blazes will be contained...

Pray for the people in its pathway whose lives have been irreversibly impacted...

Pray for the heroic individuals fighting the fires, whether on the ground or from above, and for those caring for the distraught ones who have lost their homes...

Pray for a safe evacuation and for secure shelter for the displaced residents of these communities...

Even pray for the wildlife that's been affected....

And if you can't form words--the way I keep finding myself when I bow my head to petition the Lord--then trust He will interpret the groanings of your heart. But please, please pray.

May God bring beauty from these ashes.

  4. Kim,
Those photos depict just how cruel Mother Nature can be,to her wildest extreme, but Mother Nature is also kind as she regenerates new growth. With new growth comes HOPE and with HOPE comes LOVE.

I am praying for all those affected by this terrible event... humans and animals alike.

Your Posting on Prayer is so apt tonight Kim,( I guess I should say "day" being the Northern Hemisphere) because I was going to ask if you minded very much if I use your post as a plea to all our ladies to continue Prayers for our dear Judy. She is having a pretty rough time at present and I am sure she will be so heartfelt for our Prayers, to help her through this very difficult time.
Please Ladies, continue praying for her.

Love you Judy and you have my Prayers.

Kim, truly a very thought provoking Post!
    Bless you sweet lady.:)

  5. Where two or three are gathered...

Yes, their live will be forever changed. May we remember to pray, not just during this immediate need, but also during the time of recovery; the time longterm effects will come to light.

    Keep the Faith!

  6. Praying Kim, it is a heart sickening sight. But when we put our eyes on the Lord he does get us through. Thank you for caring enough to let us all know about this.

  8. Ever since these images have been on our news channels here in Tasmania have been praying, Kim. ACFW Prayer loop is also keeping us informed about fellow Christians and also places like Focus on the Family and others that we know of too here in Australia. Brings back so many memories of the savagery and heartbreak here in our country too over the years and more recently in Victoria of course.
