Glimpses from ICRS in Orlando

Hey friends,

Here are some quick glimpses of ICRS so far. It's been a great week and a fun time with family and friends. We attended the Christy dinner tonight which was a wonderful event. Congrats to all the winners in all the different categories, and thanks to all of you who rooted for A Lasting Impression. I'm thrilled to have been a finalist this year!

And now, some quick snapshots...

My sweet kids all dressed up for the Christy Awards Dinner

The lovely Ann Parrish (whose husband Jim is the President of Bethany House Publishers). Ann is a dear and gifted woman who has provided invaluable input through the years during the substantive edit phase of my books. Thank you, Ann!

Dessert! Delicious!!

And finally, back at the hotel where a nice stranger agreed to snap a family pic in the hallway before we got all comfy again. What a fun night, and I was so happy to "show off" my family. I couldn't do what I do without them, and wouldn't want to.

It's late now and I'm flat exhausted from a full day of interviews and booksignings and running. But it's "exhausted" in a good way. Now for a very quick night of rest then up to venture to Harry Potter World tomorrow.  Have any of you been? Any words from the wise?

Blessings on your Tuesday, friends,
Tammy

P.S. I LOVE these pics that Catherine (DaCosta) shared with me from her and Erik's trip to Belle Meade Plantation. Thanks, Catherine, for sharing, friend! And Happy Anniversary (again)!

  1. Tammy, I have to admit that I hate you didn't win...but I also know what an amazing book "Maid" was! Had I had to choose, it would've been a tough choice and I probably would've ended up flipping a coin!

lol on the pics! Just realized you choice both horse pictures I took :-P With the second one, I'll just explain to others that my sister-in-law/best friend LOVES horses. When I saw that one, I took a pic and the caption on Facebook is "Alex, this one is for you!"

Thank you again for the anniversary wishes. Three years down...praying for another 50+!!

  2. Thanks for sharing the ICRS pics with us, Tammy. We were rooting for you from a distance. Looks like you all had a grand time--sharing time with family always makes for good memories and I know you made some good ones over the past few days.

And Catherine--love those pics. You and your hubby look like you made some good memories, too!

  3. Tam! We all know your book was worthy of a big win!:) So cool that you made the finals and what great support you have in your precious family. You looked lovely in the photos.

My curiosity has got the better of me and I have to ask you if Albert De Vos is related to Rich De Vos from the Amway Corporation?

    Enjoyed your Post Tam.:)

What a special time for you all, and I'm so glad your family was able to attend with you. CONGRATS on being a Finalist (who is ALWAYS a Winner in my book!). Okay, that might have been a little cliche, but it's true. ~ Enjoy Harry Potter World--my Steven visited last year with friends, and they LOVED it! Hugs, Patti Jo

  6. Tammy, LOVED the pictures! And How nice that your family went with you! You Christian lady writers are ALL winners in my book! Because you are obedient to use the gifts God has given you to bless and minister to others! Great will be your REAL reward in heaven! But until then keep those books comin', can't wait to read your next one!
BTW Who was keeping Jack while the whole family was out galavantin' all over the Sunshine State...poor Jack...LOL I know, I know, Jack was probably at some Doggie resort lying on a chaise lounge near a pool with sunglasses on, being hand fed doggie treats by a lovely miniature poodle name "FiFi"

Catherine LOVE the pics of you and your hubby, you guys make the cutest couple!
