Contest Winners and More

So first things first - here's the list of contest winners

Grace
Jackie Smith
Chelsea Boland
Samantha Kuiper
Sarah White

Each of you ladies win an autographed copy of TAMING THE WIND. Please send me your mailing addresses in an email to: TJPBOOKS@aol.com and I’ll get those books right out to you.

And put September 26th on your calendar for a Facebook party I'm having where we'll give away a KINDLE FIRE. More information will be forthcoming with links and time.

And now for the "MORE" A few of you have emailed to ask how goes my endeavors to climb the M and the weight loss. With all the smoke in our area, climbing the M has been out of the question. You can't see the mountains, much less the M. The weight continues to come off in little bits - which is exactly what the weight loss doctor wanted, even though the neurologist would just as soon see it come off really fast. So hopefully once the forest fires are extinguished - and we have over 500 firefighters on the ground working so hard to do just that - I'll head back to the M.

I can't boast of having any "grandducks" as Cathy did - but we are excited to announce there is a little bunny living under one of our decks. This isn't him - but he looks just like this. Reminds me of a little song John Denver sand that started, "Tools was a baby rabbit...." Maybe we'll call him Tools.

I'm worried for him because our cat Calvin
likes to attack and kill anything he sees as a threat. Jim says he only attacks when the opposition is armed and dangerous - but I'm not sure that's his only motivation. Anyway, we love rabbits in this household - in fact - my hubby claims a close and personal relationship with rabbits of all shapes and sizes. Cathy and Judy can vouch for the many, many bunnies around my house.

And last but not least - Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) has started up again for the year and this year we're studying Genesis. I'm so excited to be a part of this and want to encourage any and all - if you're looking for a great Bible study - this organization has some of the best. You can check out their website at http://www.bsfinternational.org/.

They have one study for women and a separate one for men. They also have childcare where the kids study the same things as the adults. It's been such a blessing to me in the past and I know it will be great fun to go over all those old stories we cut our teeth on in Sunday School. I will admit that BSF isn't for the faint of heart - they work you for sure. You will be blessed by it, however.

Thanks for all the prayers and please keep them coming. The closest fires are 60% contained so that's good news, but it's still terribly smokey. We want to surround those firefighters, smokejumpers, pilots, victims of the fire and all the others who are involved in this year's forest fires, with prayer.

Blessings Tracie

  1. Congrats to the winners!! ~ Thanks for your health update, Tracie--sounds like you're doing well (and I'm no doctor, but I've always heard it's healthier for people to lose weight gradually than to lose it quickly!). Continued prayers that the fires and all that smoke will be gone SOON. ~ Oh, that little bunny is adorable! Reminds me of Cinnamon, my son's bunny (now that Steven is at college I'm taking care of his bunny and bird--in addition to all my kitties, LOL). I sure hope Calvin will be kind to that bunny (love that photo of Calvin--he's beautiful). Hugs from Georgia, Patti Jo

  2. Tools is adorable! He could come down here and befriend Daisy and Dudley. THe air is clear, and Calvin wouldn't pose a danger to him. Then again, as much as Jim loves bunnies, I think Tools is one of God's sweet little gifts to him.

BSF is awesome! I hope you find fellowship and fun there as you delve deeper into the Word.
    Cathy
