Special Celebration!

September 20th in 2008 was a Sunday. I was in Denver at the ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers) conference. The final session had ended, and I was standing against a wall, waiting for the room to clear so I could follow everyone out. You see, I suffered from six different chronic illnesses and relied on a cane, which slowed my pace. I didn't want to be in the way. Hence my location. As I stood watching people file by, a dear woman named Ruth approached me. We talked briefly, and then she took my hand and said, "Come with me--I want my daughter to pray for you."

Her daughter, Brandilyn Collins, is a beautiful, vivacious, talented, busy Christian author, and I did NOT want to bother her. But Ruth was insistent, and I couldn't bear to hurt Ruth's feelings, so I went. And during our prayer time, God revealed the source of my many illnesses. Using Brandilyn as a conduit, He stripped away that burden and the next morning I awakened in a pain-free, shame-free body.

I have now celebrated eight years of walking in freedom. And I want to share my joy! So I'm doing a dual contest, which means you have two chances to win. Leave a comment here on the blog, and/or go to my Facebook Page and leave a comment on my blog announcement post. For every 30 comments, I will give away a copy of my recently reprinted Mountain Lake Series, pictured below. I'd love to send out a dozen copies, so please send your friends, family, and strangers on the street to the blog or my Facebook page! Celebrate with me! God is GOOD!!!

God bless you muchly as you journey with Him! ~Kim

  9. I just finished reading "From a Distance" and found it a delightful read. Rejoice with you to hear you are now walking without a cane. May God be glorified in all you do. I look forward to reading more from Tamera Alexander.

  10. God is Good! We too have witnessed miracles these last 5 weeks as God healed Mom one step at a time, and is still working. But, God is Good even when He isn't healing physically. We have had numerous tragic accidents with loss of lives in our extended communities these same 5 weeks, where God has worked other miracles than healing. Would love to win this series, Kim

Kim, I remember when I first met you when I started dating Larry. You were such a delight to visit with. I was so impressed with your art work, smile and your warm personality. Then I remember years later when you were going through all the health issues - we prayed for you. What an answer to our prayers for your healing! God has definitely used you in so many ways - through your speaking (which is definitely a work of God, right?) and your very gifted writing. I have a hard time putting your books down once I get started! Your Tante Lois has read most of your books at least 2 and 3 times. Thanking God for the ways your books have blessed me and I know many other people. As well as giving Him thanks for your healing so that you are able to do the things you have in the last eight years! Praying for continued blessings upon you, Nancy

  21. Kim, I too remember those days, and after, it was all truly a miracle. I loved these books since I first read them. The very first one was what made me fall in love with your writing. I would love to have the new set also. Last few weeks I've been having trouble getting things to post so hope this one does. I miss seeing your smiling face and hearing your specials.

I've seen you here at conference (you're Kim Vogel Sawyer, just the way you felt about Brandilyn *smile*). You are so lovely. I want to grow up to be just like you someday.
